When I moved into my current home, I had plans to put in a garden. Well four+ years later, I finally got around to it. After spending time working in other gardens like the food bank (Food For Thought in Forestville) that I was regularly volunteering at before Covid-19 hit, I finally had the time to set up my own. The garden contains four boxes that I made of redwood planks from Berry’s sawmill in Cazadero. I put a fence around each with hopes it would deter deer and birds, which seems to have been successful, even on the night, when one deer tried to body slam their way past it. The next morning I found the fencing with a large bend inward. I think the deer was very frustrated to say the least. And as you can see in the pics, the garden did well most of the summer. I’m looking forward to the fall season and using all four boxes.
